1. యా కున్దేన్దుతుషారహారధవలా యా శుభ్రవస్త్రావృతా యా వీణావరదణ్డమణ్డితకరా యా శ్వేతపద్మాసనా।
   యా బ్రహ్మాచ్యుతశఙ్కరప్రభృతిభిర్దేవైః సదా వన్దితా సా మాం పాతు సరస్వతీ భగవతీ నిఃశేషజాడ్యాపహా॥

   Ya kundendu tushara hara dhavala, ya shubhra vastravrita, ya veena vara danda mandita kara, ya shveta padmasana. Ya Brahmachyuta Shankara prabhritibhir devaih sada vandita, sa mam patu Sarasvati Bhagavati nihshesha jadyapaha.

   She who is white as jasmine, the moon and a garland of frost, clothed in white, her hands graced by the veena, seated on a white lotus, always honoured by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and the gods: may that Goddess Saraswati, who removes all dullness, protect me.
