Lord, the waters born at the start of creation first held you in their womb, where all beings united and became one in you, O Hari who rests on the waters. O people, Vishnu created this world, but you do not know him; something other than you, the form of Vishnu, lives within you. Your unmanifest form is the hardest of all to know; but this manifest form is also pure goodness, clearly like waves on an ocean of nectar. So I take refuge in your form, highest and dearest, which steals the heart with the sweetness of its virtues. O Lord of Guruvayur, Krishna, protect me from illness.
