முத்திநெறி அறியாத மூர்க்கரொடு முயல்வேனைப், பத்திநெறி அறிவித்துப் பழவினைகள் பாறும்வண்ணஞ், சித்தமலம் அறுவித்துச் சிவமாக்கி எனை ஆண்ட, அத்தன்எனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Muththineri ariyaadha moorkkarodu muyalvenaip, paththineri ariviththup pazhavinaigal paarumvannanj, chiththamalam aruviththuch chivamaakki enai aanda, aththan enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
I toiled alongside fools who did not know the path to liberation; he taught me the path of devotion so my old karma scattered, cut away the impurity of my mind, made me one with Shiva and ruled me. Who else could receive the grace my father gave me? How wondrous!
मैं मुक्ति का मार्ग न जानने वाले मूर्खों के साथ भटक रहा था; उन्होंने मुझे भक्ति का मार्ग सिखाया कि मेरे पुराने कर्म बिखर गए, मेरे मन का मैल काटा, मुझे शिवमय बनाकर अपनाया। मेरे पिता ने मुझ पर जो कृपा की, वह और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

நெறியல்லா நெறிதன்னை நெறியாக நினைவேனைச், சிறுநெறிகள் சேராமே திருவருளே சேரும்வண்ணம், குறியொன்றும் இல்லாத கூத்தன்தன் கூத்தையெனக், கறியும் வண்ணம் அருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Neriyallaa neri thannai neriyaaga ninaivenaich, chiruneregal seraame thiruvarule serumvannam, kuri ondrum illaadha kooththan than kooththai enakku, ariyum vannam aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
I took a path that was no path for the true one; so that I would not fall into petty paths but reach holy grace, the dancer who has no mark or form graciously let me understand his dance. Who else could receive such grace? How wondrous!
मैं ग़लत रास्ते को ही सही रास्ता समझता था; ताकि मैं छोटे-मोटे रास्तों में न पड़ूँ बल्कि पावन कृपा तक पहुँचूँ, बिना किसी चिह्न या रूप वाले नर्तक ने कृपा करके मुझे अपना नृत्य समझाया। ऐसी कृपा और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

பொய்யெல்லாம் மெய்யென்று புணர்முலையார் போகத்தே, மையலுறக் கடவேனை மாளாமே காத்தருளித், தையலிடங் கொண்டபிரான் தன்கழலே சேரும்வண்ணம், ஐயன்எனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Poyyellaam meyyendru punarmulaiyaar bogaththe, maiyalurak kadavenai maalaame kaaththarulith, thaiyalidang konda piraan than kazhale serumvannam, aiyan enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
Taking all that is false as true, I was bound to fall into infatuation with the pleasures of women; he saved me from ruin, so that I might reach the feet of the Lord who keeps the Goddess at his side. Who else could receive the grace my Lord gave me? How wondrous!
सारे झूठ को सच मानकर मैं स्त्रियों के भोग के मोह में गिरने वाला था; उन्होंने मुझे विनाश से बचाया, ताकि मैं उन प्रभु के चरणों तक पहुँचूँ जो देवी को अपने साथ रखते हैं। मेरे स्वामी ने जो कृपा की, वह और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

மண்ணதனிற் பிறந்தெய்த்து மாண்டுவிழக் கடவேனை, எண்ணமிலா அன்பருளி எனையாண்டிட் டென்னையுந்தன், சுண்ணவெண்ணீ றணிவித்துத் தூய்நெறியே சேரும் வண்ணம், அண்ணல்எனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Mannadhanir pirandheyththu maandu vizhak kadavenai, ennamilaa anbaruli enaiyaandittu ennaiyum than, sunna venneeru aniviththuth thooyneriye serumvannam, annal enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
I was bound to be born on this earth, grow weary, die and fall; he gave me boundless love, ruled me, smeared me too with his fine white ash, so that I might reach the pure path. Who else could receive the grace the great one gave me? How wondrous!
मुझे इस धरती पर जन्म लेकर, थककर, मरकर गिरना ही था; उन्होंने मुझे असीम प्रेम दिया, मुझे अपनाया, मुझे भी अपनी बारीक सफ़ेद भस्म लगाई, ताकि मैं पावन मार्ग तक पहुँचूँ। उन महान प्रभु ने जो कृपा की, वह और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

பஞ்சாய அடிமடவார் கடைக்கண்ணால் இடர்ப்பட்டு, நெஞ்சாய துயர்கூர நிற்பேன்உன் அருள்பெற்றேன், உய்ஞ்சேன்நான் உடையானே அடியேனை வருகஎன்று, அஞ்சேல்என் றருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Panjaaya adimadavaar kadaikkannaal idarppattu, nenjaaya thuyarkoora nirpen un arulpetren, uynjen naan udaiyaane adiyenai varuga endru, anjel endru aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
Tormented by the sidelong glances of women with feet soft as cotton, I stood with sorrow piling up in my heart; then I received your grace and was saved. O my master, who said to me, your servant, ‘Come, do not fear!’, who else could receive such grace? How wondrous!
रुई-से कोमल पैरों वाली स्त्रियों की तिरछी नज़रों से सताया, मैं मन में बढ़ते दुःख के साथ खड़ा था; फिर मुझे आपकी कृपा मिली और मैं बच गया। हे मेरे स्वामी, जिन्होंने मुझ दास से कहा, ‘आओ, डरो मत!’, ऐसी कृपा और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

வெந்துவிழும் உடற்பிறவி மெய்யென்று வினைபெருக்கிக், கொந்துகுழல் கோல்வளையார் குவிமுலைமேல் வீழ்வேனைப், பந்தமறுத் தெனையாண்டு பரிசறஎன் துரிசுமறுத், தந்தமெனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Vendhuvizhum udarpiravi meyyendru vinaiperukkik, kondhukuzhal kolvalaiyaar kuvimulaimel veezhvenaip, bandhamaruththenai aandu parisara en thurisumaruth, thandham enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
Taking this bodily birth, which burns and falls away, as real, I piled up karma and fell for women with clustered tresses and bangles; he cut my bonds, ruled me, cut away my faults entirely, and gave me the final state. Who else could receive such grace? How wondrous!
जलकर गिर जाने वाले इस शरीर के जन्म को सच मानकर मैंने कर्म बढ़ाए और गुच्छेदार बालों व चूड़ियों वाली स्त्रियों पर फिसला; उन्होंने मेरे बंधन काटे, मुझे अपनाया, मेरे दोष पूरी तरह काट दिए, और मुझे परम अवस्था दी। ऐसी कृपा और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

தையலார் மையலிலே தாழ்ந்துவிழக் கடவேனைப், பையவே கொடுபோந்து பாசமெனுந் தாழுருவி, உய்யுநெறி காட்டுவித்திட் டோங்காரத் துட்பொருளை, ஐயன்எனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Thaiyalaar maiyalile thaazhndhuvizhak kadavenaip, paiyave kodupondhu paasamenum thaazhuruvi, uyyuneri kaattuviththittu ongaaraththut porulai, aiyan enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
I was bound to sink and fall in infatuation with women; gently he led me away, drew back the bolt called attachment, showed me the path to salvation, and taught me the meaning within Om. Who else could receive the grace my Lord gave me? How wondrous!
मुझे स्त्रियों के मोह में डूबकर गिरना ही था; उन्होंने धीरे से मुझे वहाँ से निकाला, मोह नाम की कुंडी खोली, उद्धार का मार्ग दिखाया, और ओंकार के भीतर का अर्थ सिखाया। मेरे स्वामी ने जो कृपा की, वह और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

சாதல்பிறப் பென்னுந் தடஞ்சுழியில் தடுமாறிக், காதலின்மிக் கணியிழையார் கலவியிலே விழுவேனை, மாதொருகூ றுடையபிரான் தன்கழலே சேரும்வண்ணம், ஆதியெனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Saadhal pirappennunth thadanjuzhiyil thadumaarik, kaadhalinmikku aniyizhaiyaar kalaviyile vizhuvenai, maadhoru kooruduya piraan than kazhale serumvannam, aadhi enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
Floundering in the great whirlpool called death and birth, overcome with desire, I was falling into the arms of bejewelled women; so that I might reach the feet of the Lord who shares his body with the Goddess, the First One showed me grace. Who else could receive such grace? How wondrous!
मृत्यु और जन्म नाम के बड़े भँवर में डगमगाता, कामना से अभिभूत, मैं गहनों से सजी स्त्रियों की बाँहों में गिर रहा था; ताकि मैं देवी को आधा अंग देने वाले प्रभु के चरणों तक पहुँचूँ, आदि प्रभु ने मुझ पर कृपा की। ऐसी कृपा और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!

செம்மைநலம் அறியாத சிதடரொடுந் திரிவேனை, மும்மைமலம் அறுவித்து முதலாய முதல்வன்தான், நம்மையும்ஓர் பொருளாக்கி நாய்சிவிகை ஏற்றுவித்த, அம்மையெனக் கருளியவா றார்பெறுவார் அச்சோவே.
Semmainalam ariyaadha sidhadarodun thirivenai, mummaimalam aruviththu mudhalaaya mudhalvanthaan, nammaiyum or porulaakki naai sivigai etruviththa, ammai enakku aruliyavaaru aar peruvaar achchove.
I wandered with fools who did not know the worth of goodness; the First Lord himself cut away my three impurities, made something even of me, and set a dog like me in a palanquin. Who else could receive the motherly grace he gave me? How wondrous!
मैं अच्छाई का मोल न जानने वाले मूर्खों के साथ भटकता था; स्वयं आदि प्रभु ने मेरे तीनों मल काटे, मुझे भी कुछ बना दिया, और मुझ जैसे कुत्ते को पालकी में बिठा दिया। माँ जैसी जो कृपा उन्होंने मुझ पर की, वह और कौन पा सकता है? कैसा अद्भुत!
