By my teachers’ grace I will tell as much as I can of Harikathamritasara, the essence of the nectar of Hari’s stories. May the Lord’s great devotees listen to it with care.

Narasimha, whose lovely lotus feet are worshipped by Lakshmi’s lotus hands, praised by Brahma, Vayu, Sarasvati, Shesha, Garuda, Shiva and Indra; cause of the birth and keeping of Brahma’s universe, giver of liberation: I bow to you. Grant us what is auspicious.
हे नरसिंह, जिनके सुंदर चरण-कमल लक्ष्मी के कर-कमलों से पूजित हैं, जिनकी स्तुति ब्रह्मा, वायु, सरस्वती, शेष, गरुड़, शिव और इंद्र करते हैं; ब्रह्मांड की उत्पत्ति और पालन के कारण, मोक्षदाता, मैं तुम्हें नमन करता हूँ। हमें मंगल प्रदान करो।

Brahma, son of the Lord of matchless bliss, served by the assembly of gods, king of the upright souls, full of goodness, sun to Sarasvati’s lotus face; father of Garuda, Shesha and Shiva who wears the crescent moon; teacher of the world: I bow at your feet. Grant me a right mind.
अनुपम आनंद वाले प्रभु के पुत्र, देवसभा द्वारा सेवित, ऋजु जीवों के राजा, सत्त्व से भरपूर, सरस्वती के मुख-कमल के सूर्य; गरुड़, शेष और चंद्रशेखर शिव के पिता, जगद्गुरु ब्रह्मा, मैं आपके चरणों में प्रणाम करता हूँ। मुझे सद्बुद्धि दें।

ಆರು ಮೂರೆರಡೊಂದು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೂರೆರಡು ಶತಶ್ವಾಸ ಜಪಗಳ ಮೂರುವಿಧ ಜೀವರೊಳಗಬ್ಜಜಕಲ್ಪಪರಿಯಂತ, ತಾ ರಚಿಸಿ ಸಾತ್ತ್ವರಿಗೆ ಸುಖ ಸಂಸಾರ ಮಿಶ್ರರಿಗಧಮಜನರಿಗಪಾರ ದುಃಖಗಳೀವ ಗುರು ಪವಮಾನ ಸಲಹೆಮ್ಮ.
Aru mureradondu savira mureradu shatashvasa japagala muruvidha jeevarolagabjajakalpapariyanta, ta rachisi sattvarige sukha samsara mishrarigadhamajanarigapara duhkhagaleeva guru Pavamana salahemma.
Within all three kinds of souls, until the end of Brahma’s age, he performs the japa of twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths a day; he gives joy to the good, worldly life to the mixed, and endless sorrow to the wicked. May Vayu, the teacher, protect us.
तीनों प्रकार के जीवों के भीतर ब्रह्मा के कल्प के अंत तक रोज़ इक्कीस हज़ार छह सौ श्वासों का जप करने वाले, सात्त्विकों को सुख, मिश्र जीवों को संसार और अधमों को अपार दुख देने वाले गुरु पवमान (वायु) हमारी रक्षा करें।

चतुर्मुख ब्रह्मा की रानी, निर्मल और अखंड ज्ञान वाली, वेदों की अधिष्ठात्री, हाथ में वीणा लिए ब्रह्माणी, हे माता, मैं नमन करके माँगता हूँ: लक्ष्मीपति के गुण गाने के लिए सद्बुद्धि दो और मेरे मुख में निवास करो।

कृति और प्रद्युम्न की पुत्री, चौबीस तत्त्वों के अधिपति देवताओं के गुरु वायु की पत्नी भारती, मुझे हरि और गुरुओं में सदा सच्चा प्रेम दो, और कृपा करके भागवत, महाभारत और पुराणों के रहस्य-तत्त्व समझाओ।

ವೇದಪೀಠ ವಿರಿಂಚಿ ಭವ ಶಕ್ರಾದಿ ಸುರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದಾಯಕ ಮೋದ ಚಿನ್ಮಯಗಾತ್ರ ಲೋಕಪವಿತ್ರ ಸುಚರಿತ್ರ, ಛೇದ ಭೇದ ವಿಷಾದ ಕುಟಿಲಾಂತಾದಿ ಮಧ್ಯ ವಿದೂರ ಆದಾನಾದಿ ಕಾರಣ ಬಾದರಾಯಣ ಪಾಹಿ ಸತ್ರಾಣ.
Vedapeetha Virinchi Bhava Shakradi sura vijnanadayaka moda chinmayagatra lokapavitra sucharitra, chheda bheda vishada kutilantadi madhya vidura adanadi karana Badarayana pahi satrana.
Badarayana (Vyasa), seat of the Vedas, giver of knowledge to Brahma, Shiva, Indra and the other gods, whose body is bliss and pure consciousness, who purifies the world, of noble deeds; far beyond destruction, division, grief, crookedness, beginning, middle and end; cause of creation and all else: protect us, mighty one.
हे बादरायण (व्यास), वेदों के आधार, ब्रह्मा, शिव, इंद्र आदि देवताओं को ज्ञान देने वाले, आनंदमय चिन्मय शरीर वाले, लोकों को पवित्र करने वाले, उत्तम चरित्र वाले; विनाश, भेद, विषाद, कुटिलता और आदि-मध्य-अंत से परे, सृष्टि आदि के कारण, हे शक्तिमान, हमारी रक्षा करो।

ಕ್ಷಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಮಣಿಮಂತ ಮೊದಲಾದತಿ ದುರಾತ್ಮರು ಒಂದಧಿಕ ವಿಂಶತಿ ಕುಭಾಷ್ಯವ ರಚಿಸೆ ನಡುಮನೆಯೆಂಬ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನ, ಸತಿಯ ಜಠರದೊಳವತರಿಸಿ ಭಾರತಿ ರಮಣ ಮಧ್ವಾಭಿಧಾನದಿ ಚತುರದಶ ಲೋಕದಲಿ ಮೆರೆದಪ್ರತಿಮಗೊಂದಿಸುವೆ.
Kshitiyolage Manimanta modaladati duratmaru ondadhika vimshati kubhashyava rachise Nadumaneyemba brahmanana, satiya jatharadolavatarisi Bharati ramana Madhvabhidhanadi chaturadasha lokadali meredapratimagondisuve.
When Manimanta and other wicked ones on earth wrote twenty-one false commentaries, Bharati’s lord (Vayu) was born to the wife of a Brahmin named Nadumane and, under the name Madhva, shone through the fourteen worlds. I bow to that peerless one.
जब धरती पर मणिमंत आदि दुष्टों ने इक्कीस गलत भाष्य रचे, तब भारती के पति (वायु) नडुमने नाम के ब्राह्मण की पत्नी के गर्भ से मध्व नाम से अवतरित हुए और चौदह लोकों में चमके। उन अनुपम को मैं प्रणाम करता हूँ।

ಪಂಚ ಭೇದಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕೆ ಪಂಚರೂಪಾತ್ಮಕನೆ ದೈವಕ ಪಂಚಮುಖ ಶಕ್ರಾದಿಗಳು ಕಿಂಕರರು ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಗೆ, ಪಂಚವಿಂಶತಿ ತತ್ತ್ವ ತರತಮ ಪಂಚಿಕೆಗಳನು ಪೇಳ್ದ ಭಾವಿ ವಿರಿಂಚಿಯೆನಿಪಾನಂದತೀರ್ಥರ ನೆನೆವೆನನುದಿನವು.
Pancha bhedatmaka prapanchake pancharupatmakane daivaka panchamukha Shakradigalu kinkararu Shriharige, panchavimshati tattva taratama panchikegalanu pelda bhavi Virinchiyenipanandateerthara nenevenanudinavu.
He taught that this world is made of five kinds of difference, that the Lord of five forms is its God, that five-faced Shiva, Indra and the rest are Sri Hari’s servants, and he set out the ranking of the twenty-five principles. Every day I remember Anandatirtha, the Brahma-to-be.
जिन्होंने बताया कि यह जगत पाँच प्रकार के भेदों से बना है, पाँच रूपों वाले प्रभु ही इसके देवता हैं, पंचमुख शिव और इंद्र आदि श्रीहरि के सेवक हैं, और पच्चीस तत्त्वों का तारतम्य समझाया, उन भावी ब्रह्मा आनंदतीर्थ को मैं रोज़ याद करता हूँ।

ವಾಮದೇವ ವಿರಿಂಚಿತನಯ ಉಮಾ ಮನೋಹರ ಉಗ್ರ ಧೂರ್ಜಟಿ ಸಾಮಜಾಜಿನವಸನ ಭೂಷಣ ಸುಮನಸೋತ್ತಂಸ, ಕಾಮಹರ ಕೈಲಾಸ ಮಂದಿರ ಸೋಮಸೂರ್ಯಾನಲ ವಿಲೋಚನ ಕಾಮಿತಪ್ರದ ಕರುಣಿಸೆಮಗೆ ಸದಾ ಸುಮಂಗಳವ.
Vamadeva Virinchitanaya Uma manohara ugra Dhurjati samajajinavasana bhushana sumanasottamsa, Kamahara Kailasa mandira somasuryanala vilochana kamitaprada karunisemage sada sumangalava.
Vamadeva, son of Brahma, beloved of Uma, fierce one with matted locks, clad and adorned in elephant hide, crown of the gods; destroyer of Kama, dwelling on Kailasa, with the moon, sun and fire for eyes, granter of wishes: always bless us with what is auspicious.
हे वामदेव, ब्रह्मा के पुत्र, उमा के प्रिय, उग्र जटाधारी, गजचर्म के वस्त्र और आभूषण वाले, देवताओं के शिरोमणि; कामदेव को भस्म करने वाले, कैलासवासी, चंद्र-सूर्य-अग्नि रूपी नेत्रों वाले, मनोकामना पूरी करने वाले, हमें सदा शुभ मंगल दो।

ಕೃತ್ತಿವಾಸನೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ನೀ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಪ ಸಮೀರನಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯತ್ವ ವಹಿಸ್ಯಖಿಳಾಗಮಾರ್ಥಗಳೋದಿ ಜಲಧಿಯೊಳು, ಹತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಪದಿ ತಪವಗೈದಾದಿತ್ಯರೊಳಗುತ್ತಮನೆನಿಸಿ ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮನ ಪರಿಯಂಕ ಪದವೈದಿದೆಯೊ ಮಹದೇವ.
Krittivasane hinde nee nalvattu kalpa Sameeranali shishyatva vahisyakhilagamarthagalodi jaladhiyolu, hattu kalpadi tapavagaidadityarolaguttamanenisi Purushottamana pariyanka padavaidideyo Mahadeva.
Mahadeva, clad in hide, long ago you were Vayu’s disciple for forty ages of Brahma and learned the meaning of all the scriptures; you did penance in the ocean for ten ages, became foremost among the gods, and attained the place of Purushottama’s couch.
हे चर्मधारी महादेव, बहुत पहले तुमने चालीस कल्पों तक वायु का शिष्य बनकर सारे शास्त्रों का अर्थ पढ़ा, दस कल्पों तक समुद्र में तप किया, देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ कहलाए और पुरुषोत्तम की शय्या का पद पाया।

ಪಾಕಶಾಸನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಕಲ ದಿವೌಕಸರಿಗಭಿನಮಿಪೆ ಋಷಿಗಳಿಗೇಕಚಿತ್ತದಿ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಗಂಧರ್ವ ಕ್ಷಿತಿಪರಿಗೆ, ಆ ಕಮಲನಾಭಾದಿ ಯತಿಗಳನೀಕಕಾನಮಿಸುವೆನು ಬಿಡದೆ ರಮಾಕಳತ್ರನ ದಾಸವರ್ಗಕೆ ನಮಿಪೆನನವರತ.
Pakashasana mukhya sakala divaukasarigabhinamipe rishigalige ekachittadi pitrigalige Gandharva kshitiparige, a Kamalanabhadi yatigalaneekakanamisuvenu bidade Ramakalatrana dasavargake namipenanavarata.
With a single mind I bow to all the gods led by Indra, to the sages, the ancestors, the Gandharvas and the kings; I bow without fail to the line of monks beginning with Padmanabha Tirtha, and always to the servants of Rama’s lord.
मैं एकाग्र मन से इंद्र आदि सब देवताओं, ऋषियों, पितरों, गंधर्वों और राजाओं को प्रणाम करता हूँ; पद्मनाभ तीर्थ आदि संन्यासियों की परंपरा को बिना चूके नमन करता हूँ, और रमापति के दासों को सदा प्रणाम करता हूँ।
