1. कदाचन व्रजशिशुभिः समं भवान् वनाशने विहितमतिः प्रगेतराम्।
   समावृतो बहुतरवत्समण्डलैः सतेमनैर्निरगमदीश जेमनैः॥

   Kadachana vrajashishubhih samam bhavan vanashane vihitamatih pragetaram, samavrito bahutaravatsamandalaih satemanairniragamadisha jemanaih.

   Once, Lord, set on a picnic in the forest, you went out very early with the boys of Vraja, surrounded by many herds of calves and carrying food and relishes.

   हे प्रभु, एक बार वन भोज का मन बनाकर आप बहुत सुबह ब्रज के बालकों के साथ, बछड़ों के अनेक झुंडों से घिरे, भोजन और व्यंजन लेकर निकले।

2. विनिर्यतस्तव चरणाम्बुजद्वयादुदञ्चितं त्रिभुवनपावनं रजः।
   महर्षयः पुलकधरैः कलेबरैरुदूहिरे धृतभवदीक्षणोत्सवाः॥

   Viniryatastava charanambujadvayadudanchitam tribhuvanapavanam rajah, maharshayah pulakadharaih kalebarairuduhire dhritabhavadikshanotsavah.

   The dust rising from your lotus feet as you went, which purifies the three worlds, was borne by great sages on their thrilled bodies as they rejoiced to see you.

   चलते समय आपके चरण कमलों से उठी, तीनों लोकों को पवित्र करने वाली धूल को महर्षियों ने आपके दर्शन के उत्सव में रोमांचित शरीरों पर धारण किया।

3. प्रचारयत्यविरलशाद्वले तले पशून् विभो भवति समं कुमारकैः।
   अघासुरो न्यरुणदघाय वर्तनीं भयानकः सपदि शयानकाकृतिः॥

   Pracharayatyaviralashadvale tale pashun vibho bhavati samam kumarakaih, aghasuro nyarunadaghaya vartanim bhayanakah sapadi shayanakakritih.

   As you grazed the cattle with the boys on thick grassland, O Lord, the dreadful demon Agha, taking the form of a huge python lying down, blocked the path to harm you.

   हे प्रभु, जब आप बालकों के साथ घनी घास पर पशु चरा रहे थे, तब भयानक अघासुर ने अजगर का रूप लेकर लेटकर आपको मारने के लिए रास्ता रोक दिया।

4. महाचलप्रतिमतनोर्गुहानिभप्रसारितप्रथितमुखस्य कानने।
   मुखोदरं विहरणकौतुकाद्गताः कुमारकाः किमपि विदूरगे त्वयि॥

   Mahachalapratimatanorguhanibhaprasaritaprathitamukhasya kanane, mukhodaram viharanakautukadgatah kumarakah kimapi vidurage tvayi.

   His body was like a great mountain and his gaping mouth like a cave; out of playful curiosity the boys walked into it while you were a little way off.

   उसका शरीर बड़े पर्वत जैसा था और फैला हुआ मुख गुफा जैसा; खेल की उत्सुकता में बालक उसके मुख में चले गए, जब आप थोड़ी दूर थे।

5. प्रमादतः प्रविशति पन्नगोदरं क्वथत्तनौ पशुपकुले सवात्सके।
   विदन्निदं त्वमपि विवेशिथ प्रभो सुहृज्जनं विशरणमाशु रक्षितुम्॥

   Pramadatah pravishati pannagodaram kvathattanau pashupakule savatsake, vidannidam tvamapi viveshitha prabho suhrijjanam visharanamashu rakshitum.

   As the cowherd boys and calves carelessly entered the serpent’s belly and began to burn, you knew it, Lord, and went in too, to quickly save your helpless friends.

   जब ग्वाल-बाल और बछड़े असावधानी से साँप के पेट में चले गए और उनके शरीर जलने लगे, तब हे प्रभु, यह जानकर आप भी अपने असहाय मित्रों को जल्दी बचाने के लिए भीतर चले गए।

6. गलोदरे विपुलितवर्ष्मणा त्वया महोरगे लुठति निरुद्धमारुते।
   द्रुतं भवान् विदलितकण्ठमण्डलो विमोचयन् पशुपपशून् विनिर्ययौ॥

   Galodare vipulitavarshmana tvaya mahorage luthati niruddhamarute, drutam bhavan vidalitakanthamandalo vimochayan pashupapashun viniryayau.

   When you swelled your body in his throat, the great serpent writhed, his breath choked; you quickly burst his throat and came out, freeing the cowherds and calves.

   जब आपने उसके गले में अपना शरीर बढ़ा लिया, तो साँस रुकने से वह महासर्प छटपटाने लगा; आप तुरंत उसका गला फाड़कर ग्वालों और बछड़ों को छुड़ाते हुए बाहर निकल आए।

7. क्षणं दिवि त्वदुपगमार्थमास्थितं महासुरप्रभवमहो महो महत्।
   विनिर्गते त्वयि तु निलीनमञ्जसा नभःस्थले ननृतुरथो जगुः सुराः॥

   Kshanam divi tvadupagamarthamasthitam mahasuraprabhavamaho maho mahat, vinirgate tvayi tu nilinamanjasa nabhahsthale nanrituratho jaguh surah.

   A great light rose from the demon and waited a moment in the sky for you; when you came out, it merged into you at once, and the gods in the sky danced and sang.

   अहा, असुर से एक महान ज्योति निकली और आपके पास आने के लिए क्षण भर आकाश में ठहरी रही; आपके बाहर आते ही वह तुरंत आप में लीन हो गई, और आकाश में देवता नाचने और गाने लगे।

8. सविस्मयैः कमलभवादिभिः सुरैरनुद्रुतस्तदनु गतः कुमारकैः।
   दिने पुनस्तरुणदशामुपेयुषि स्वकैर्भवानतनुत भोजनोत्सवम्॥

   Savismayaih kamalabhavadibhih surairanudrutastadanu gatah kumarakaih, dine punastarunadashamupeyushi svakairbhavanatanuta bhojanotsavam.

   Followed by the amazed gods led by Brahma, and then by the boys, you held a feast with your friends as the day grew on.

   ब्रह्मा आदि चकित देवताओं और फिर बालकों के साथ, दिन चढ़ने पर आपने अपने साथियों के साथ भोजन का उत्सव मनाया।

9. विषाणिकामपि मुरलीं नितम्बके निवेशयन् कबलधरः कराम्बुजे।
   प्रहासयन् कलवचनैः कुमारकान् बुभोजिथ त्रिदशगणैर्मुदा नुतः॥

   Vishanikamapi muralim nitambake niveshayan kabaladharah karambuje, prahasayan kalavachanaih kumarakan bubhojitha tridashaganairmuda nutah.

   With your horn and flute tucked at your waist and a ball of food in your lotus hand, making the boys laugh with your sweet talk, you ate happily as the gods sang your praise.

   सींग का बिगुल और बाँसुरी कमर में खोंसकर, कर कमल में कौर लिए, मीठी बातों से बालकों को हँसाते हुए आपने खुशी से भोजन किया और देवता आपकी स्तुति करते रहे।

10. सुखाशनं त्विह तव गोपमण्डले मखाशनात्प्रियमिव देवमण्डले।
    इति स्तुतस्त्रिदशवरैर्जगत्पते मरुत्पुरीनिलय गदात् प्रपाहि माम्॥

    Sukhashanam tviha tava gopamandale makhashanatpriyamiva devamandale, iti stutastridashavarairjagatpate marutpurinilaya gadat prapahi mam.

    ‘This happy meal among the cowherds seems dearer to you than the offerings of sacrifice among the gods.’ Praised thus by the chief gods, O Lord of the world who dwells in Guruvayur, protect me from illness.

    ‘ग्वालों के बीच यह सुखद भोजन आपको देवताओं के बीच यज्ञ के भोग से भी अधिक प्रिय लगता है।’ श्रेष्ठ देवताओं से ऐसी स्तुति पाने वाले, गुरुवायुर में बसे जगत्पति, मुझे रोग से बचाओ।
