केबल आसार आशा

1. কেবল আসার আশা, ভবে আসা, আসা মাত্র হল।
   যেমন চিত্রের পদ্মেতে পড়ে, ভ্রমর ভুলে রল॥

   Kebol ashar asha, bhobe asha, asha matro holo. Jemon chitrer poddete pore, bhromor bhule rolo.

   My hope in coming was only hope; coming into this world has been mere coming. Like a bee that lands on a painted lotus and stays there, deceived.

   आने की आशा केवल आशा ही रही; संसार में आना बस आना भर रह गया। जैसे भौंरा चित्र के कमल पर बैठकर भ्रम में पड़ा रह जाता है।

2. মা নিম খাওয়ালে চিনি বলে, কথায় করে ছল।
   ওমা মিঠার লোভে তিত মুখে, সারা দিনটা গেল॥

   Ma nim khaowale chini bole, kothay kore chhol. Oma mithar lobhe tito mukhe, shara dinta gelo.

   Mother, you fed me bitter neem, calling it sugar, tricking me with words. In my greed for sweetness, Mother, the whole day passed with a bitter taste in my mouth.

   माँ, तुमने बातों का छल करके चीनी कहकर मुझे नीम खिला दिया। माँ, मिठास के लालच में कड़वे मुँह के साथ पूरा दिन बीत गया।

3. মা খেলবি বলে ফাঁকি দিয়ে, নাবালে ভূতল।
   এবার যে খেলা খেলালে মা গো, আশা না পুরিল॥

   Ma khelbi bole phanki diye, nabale bhutol. Ebar je khela khelale Ma go, asha na purilo.

   Mother, you tricked me, saying we would play, and brought me down to earth. The game you made me play this time, Mother, has left my hopes unfulfilled.

   माँ, खेलने का बहाना करके तुमने मुझे धोखे से धरती पर उतार दिया। इस बार तुमने जो खेल खिलाया, माँ, उसमें मेरी आशा पूरी नहीं हुई।

4. রামপ্রসাদ বলে ভবের খেলায়, যা হবার তাই হল।
   এখন সন্ধ্যাবেলায় কোলের ছেলে, ঘরে নিয়ে চল॥

   Ramproshad bole bhober khelay, ja hobar tai holo. Ekhon shondhyabelay koler chhele, ghore niye cholo.

   Ramprasad says: in the game of this world, what was to happen has happened. Now that it is evening, take your little child home in your arms.

   रामप्रसाद कहते हैं: संसार के खेल में जो होना था, वह हो गया। अब शाम हो गई है, अपने गोद के बच्चे को घर ले चलो।
