Is the cool lotus of my innocent heart not fit to hold your feet, as the white lotus is? O sweet sugarcane savoured by Brahma, who goes on creating while Vishnu, who protects and swallows the seven worlds, sleeps, and Shiva the destroyer roams like a madman! O Sakalakalavalli, mistress of all arts!

Why does the lotus of your red, golden feet, soft as cotton, not bloom in the pond of my heart? You dwell on the tongue and in the heart of Brahma, who raised the swan banner, as if on a white lotus seat with a long stem. O Sakalakalavalli!
