Thiruppugazh: Erumayil Eri

Erumayil eri vilaiyaadu mugam ondre, eesanudan gnaanamozhi pesu mugam ondre, koorum adiyaargal vinai theerkku mugam ondre, kundruruva vel vaangi nindra mugam ondre.

One face rides the soaring peacock and plays; one face speaks words of wisdom with Shiva; one face ends the karma of the devotees who praise him; one face stands holding the spear that pierced the mountain.

Maarupadu soorarai vadhaiththa mugam ondre, valliyai manam punara vandha mugam ondre, aarumugam aana porul nee arula vendum, aadhi arunaachalam amarndha perumaale.

One face slew the hostile demons; one face came to marry Valli. Please reveal to me the meaning of your six faces, O great Lord who dwells at ancient Arunachalam!
