Uyarvara uyar nalam udaiyavan yavan avan, mayarvara madhi nalam arulinan yavan avan, ayarvarum amarargal adhipadhi yavan avan, thuyararu sudaradi thozhudhezhu en manane.
He who has the highest good, with nothing higher; he who graciously gave me wisdom free of confusion; he who is lord of the never-weary immortals: O my mind, worship his radiant feet that end all sorrow, and rise!

Manana gamalamara malarmisai ezhudharum, mananunar alavilan poriyunarvavaiyilan, inanunar muzhunalam edhirnigazh kazhivinum, inanilan enanuyir migu naraiyilane.
He is beyond the measure of the mind, even when it rises in full bloom, free of impurity; beyond the reach of the senses; he is the whole of goodness; in future, present and past he has no equal; he is my life, and none is above him.

Ilanadhu udaiyan idhu ena ninaivariyavan, nilanidai visumbidai uruvinan aruvinan, pulanodu pulanalan ozhivilan parandha an, nalanudai oruvanai nanuginam naame.
He cannot be thought of as ‘he lacks this’ or ‘he has that’; on earth and in the sky he has form and is formless; he is within the senses and beyond them, endless and all-pervading. We have come close to that One, full of goodness.

We, he, this one and that one; she, this woman, that woman, whoever; they, these and those; that, this, the thing between, whatever; the perishing things, these and those; good and evil; all that is and all that comes to be: he stands as all of them.

Avaravar thamadhamadhu arivari vagai vagai, avaravar iraiyavar ena adi adaivargal, avaravar iraiyavar kuraivilar iraiyavar, avaravar vidhivazhi adaiya nindranare.
Each, by their own understanding and in their own way, reaches the feet of their own chosen god as Lord. Those gods lack nothing, for the Lord stands within them so that each may reach him by the path meant for them.

He stands, sits, reclines and roams; and he neither stands, sits, reclines nor roams. He cannot be thought of as always having one nature; yet he is our firm ground, who stays ever of one nature.

Thida visumbu eri vali neer nilam ivaimisai, padarporul muzhuvadhumaai avaiavai thorum, udalmisai uyir enak karandhengum parandhulan, sudarmigu surudhiyul ivai unda surane.
Above the firm sky, fire, wind, water and earth, he is all the things that spread across them; in each one, like life in a body, he hides and pervades everything: he is the god of the radiant Vedas, who swallowed all of these.

Surar arivaru nilai vin mudhal muzhuvadhum, varan mudhalaaya avai muzhudhunda parabaran, puram oru moondru eriththu amararkkum arivu iyandhu, aran ayan ena ulagu azhiththu amaiththu ulane.
He is the supreme beyond the supreme, whose state the gods cannot know, who swallowed everything from the sky onward; as Hara he burned the three cities, as Brahma he gave wisdom to the gods; he destroys the world and creates it again.

Ulan enil ulan avan uruvam ivvuruvugal, ulan alan enil avan aruvam ivvaruvugal, ulan ena ilan ena ivai gunam udaimaiyil, ulan iru thagaimaiyodu ozhivilan parandhe.
If you say he is, he is: all these forms are his form. If you say he is not, all these formless things are his formless form. Since ‘he is’ and ‘he is not’ are both his qualities, he exists in both ways, pervading everything without end.

Parandha than paravaiyul neerthorum parandhulan, parandha andam idhu ena nila visumbu ozhivarak, karandha sil idam thorum idam thigazh porul thorum, karandhu engum parandhulan ivai unda karane.
In the wide, cool sea he pervades every drop; in this vast cosmos, through earth and sky without a gap, in every small hidden place and in every thing that fills a place, he hides and pervades everything: he who swallowed all of these.

Kara visumbu eri vali neer nilam ivaimisai, varanavil thiral vali ali porai aai nindra, paran adimel kurugoorch chadagopan sol, niranirai aayiraththu ivai paththum veede.
Of the thousand well-ordered verses that Sadagopan of Kurugur sang at the feet of the Supreme, who stands as the qualities of sky, fire, wind, water and earth, these ten are liberation itself.
