1. வாரணம் ஆயிரம் சூழ வலம் செய்து, நாரண நம்பி நடக்கின்றான் என்று எதிர், பூரண பொற்குடம் வைத்துப் புறமெங்கும், தோரணம் நாட்டக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Vaaranam aayiram soozha valam seidhu, Naarana Nambi nadakkindraan endru edhir, poorana porkudam vaiththup puramengum, thoranam naattak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that Narayana Nambi was coming in procession, circled by a thousand elephants, and that full golden pots were set out to greet him and festoons put up everywhere.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि हज़ार हाथियों से घिरे नारायण नंबि जुलूस में आ रहे हैं, और उनके स्वागत में भरे हुए सोने के कलश रखे गए हैं और हर ओर तोरण लगाए गए हैं।

2. நாளை வதுவை மணம் என்று நாளிட்டு, பாளை கமுகு பரிசுடைப் பந்தற் கீழ், கோளரி மாதவன் கோவிந்தன் என்பான் ஓர், காளை புகுதக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Naalai vadhuvai manam endru naalittu, paalai kamugu parisudaip pandhar keezh, kolari Maadhavan Govindhan enbaan or, kaalai pugudhak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that the wedding was fixed for tomorrow, and that a youth strong as a lion, called Madhava, Govinda, came in under the fine pandal hung with areca blossoms.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि विवाह कल के लिए तय हुआ है, और सिंह जैसा बलवान एक युवक, जिसे माधव, गोविंद कहते हैं, सुपारी के फूलों से सजे सुंदर मंडप के नीचे आया।

3. இந்திரன் உள்ளிட்ட தேவர் குழாம் எல்லாம், வந்திருந்து என்னை மகட்பேசி மந்திரித்து, மந்திரக் கோடி உடுத்தி மணமாலை, அந்தரி சூட்டக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Indhiran ullitta dhevar kuzhaam ellaam, vandhirundhu ennai magatpesi mandhiriththu, mandhirak kodi uduththi manamaalai, Andhari soottak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that all the gods, Indra among them, came and asked for my hand and settled the match, dressed me in a new sari blessed with mantras, and that the goddess Durga placed the bridal garland on me.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि इंद्र समेत सारे देवता आए, मेरा हाथ माँगा और रिश्ता तय किया, मुझे मंत्रों से पवित्र नई साड़ी पहनाई, और देवी दुर्गा ने मुझे वरमाला पहनाई।

4. நாற்றிசைத் தீர்த்தம் கொணர்ந்து நனி நல்கி, பார்ப்பனச் சிட்டர்கள் பல்லார் எடுத்து ஏத்தி, பூப்புனை கண்ணிப் புனிதனோடு என்தன்னைக், காப்பு நாண் கட்டக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Naatrisaith theerththam konarndhu nani nalgi, paarppanach chittargal pallaar eduththu eththi, poopunai kannip punidhanodu endhannaik, kaappu naan kattak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that many learned, worthy Brahmins brought holy water from the four directions, sprinkled it freely, chanted blessings, and tied the protective thread on me and on the Pure One who wore a flower garland.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि अनेक विद्वान ब्राह्मण चारों दिशाओं से पवित्र जल लाए, खूब छिड़का, आशीर्वाद के मंत्र पढ़े, और मुझे और फूलों की माला पहने पवित्र प्रभु को रक्षा-सूत्र बाँधा।

5. கதிரொளி தீபம் கலசம் உடன் ஏந்தி, சதிர் இள மங்கையர் தாம் வந்து எதிர்கொள்ள, மதுரையார் மன்னன் அடிநிலை தொட்டு எங்கும், அதிரப் புகுதக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Kadhiroli dheebam kalasam udan endhi, sadhir ila mangaiyar thaam vandhu edhirkolla, Madhuraiyaar mannan adinilai thottu engum, adhirap pugudhak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that graceful young women came to greet him, carrying lamps bright as sunlight and pots, and that the king of Mathura stepped in, his sandals touching the ground, and the earth shook all around.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि सुंदर युवतियाँ सूरज जैसे चमकते दीप और कलश लेकर उनका स्वागत करने आईं, और मथुरा के राजा अपने पाँव धरती पर रखते हुए आए, तो चारों ओर धरती काँप उठी।

6. மத்தளம் கொட்ட வரிசங்கம் நின்று ஊத, முத்துடைத் தாமம் நிரை தாழ்ந்த பந்தற் கீழ், மைத்துனன் நம்பி மதுசூதன் வந்து என்னைக், கைத்தலம் பற்றக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Maththalam kotta varisangam nindru oodha, muththudaith thaamam nirai thaazhndha pandhar keezh, maiththunan Nambi Madhusoodhan vandhu ennaik, kaiththalam patrak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that as the drums beat and the conches sounded, under the pandal hung low with strings of pearls, my beloved Madhusudana came and took my hand.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि ढोल बज रहे हैं और शंख गूंज रहे हैं, मोतियों की लड़ियों से झुके मंडप के नीचे, मेरे प्रिय मधुसूदन आए और मेरा हाथ थाम लिया।

7. வாய் நல்லார் நல்ல மறை ஓதி மந்திரத்தால், பாசிலை நாணல் படுத்துப் பரிதி வைத்து, காய்சின மா களிறு அன்னான் என் கைப்பற்றி, தீவலம் செய்யக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Vaai nallaar nalla marai odhi mandhiraththaal, paasilai naanal paduththup paridhi vaiththu, kaaisina maa kaliru annaan en kaippatri, theevalam seiyak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that holy men with fine voices chanted the Vedas and mantras, spread green kusa grass and laid the sacred fire, and that he, like a mighty, fiery elephant, held my hand and walked around the fire with me.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि मधुर स्वर वाले पवित्र लोगों ने वेद और मंत्र पढ़े, हरी कुशा बिछाई और पवित्र अग्नि जलाई, और वे, बलवान मस्त हाथी जैसे, मेरा हाथ थामकर मेरे साथ अग्नि के फेरे लेने लगे।

8. இம்மைக்கும் ஏழேழ் பிறவிக்கும் பற்றாவான், நம்மை உடையவன் நாராயணன் நம்பி, செம்மை உடைய திருக்கையால் தாள் பற்றி, அம்மி மிதிக்கக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Immaikkum ezhezh piravikkum patraavaan, nammai udaiyavan Naaraayanan Nambi, semmai udaiya thirukkaiyaal thaal patri, ammi midhikkak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that Narayana Nambi, who owns us and is our refuge in this life and for seven times seven births, took my foot in his perfect holy hand and set it on the grinding stone.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि हमारे स्वामी नारायण नंबि, जो इस जीवन में और सात जन्मों के सात गुने जन्मों तक हमारा सहारा हैं, ने अपने पावन हाथ से मेरा पैर पकड़कर सिल पर रखवाया।

9. வரிசிலை வாள்முகத்து என்னைமார் தாம் வந்திட்டு, எரிமுகம் பாரித்து என்னை முன்னே நிறுத்தி, அரிமுகன் அச்சுதன் கைம்மேல் என் கை வைத்துப், பொரிமுகந்து அட்டக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

   Varisilai vaalmugaththu ennaimaar thaam vandhittu, erimugam paariththu ennai munne niruththi, Arimugan Achchudhan kaimmel en kai vaiththup, porimugandhu attak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

   I dreamed, my friend, that my bright-faced brothers came, made the fire blaze high and stood me before it, placed my hand on the hand of lion-like Achyuta, and poured the puffed rice into the flames.

   सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि चमकते मुख वाले मेरे भाई आए, अग्नि को ऊँचा भड़काकर मुझे उसके सामने खड़ा किया, मेरा हाथ सिंह जैसे अच्युत के हाथ पर रखा, और लावा अग्नि में डाला।

10. குங்குமம் அப்பிக் குளிர் சாந்தம் மட்டித்து, மங்கல வீதி வலம் செய்து மணநீர், அங்கு அவனோடும் உடன் சென்று அங்கு ஆனை மேல், மஞ்சனம் ஆட்டக் கனாக் கண்டேன் தோழீ நான்.

    Kungumam appik kulir saandham mattiththu, mangala veedhi valam seidhu mananeer, angu avanodum udan sendru angu aanai mel, manjanam aattak kanaak kanden thozhee naan.

    I dreamed, my friend, that, smeared with kumkum and cool sandal paste, we went round the festive streets, and there, seated with him on an elephant, I was bathed in the wedding waters.

    सखी, मैंने सपना देखा कि कुमकुम और ठंडा चंदन लगाकर हम मंगल गलियों में घूमे, और वहाँ उनके साथ हाथी पर बैठी मुझे विवाह के जल से नहलाया गया।

11. ஆயனுக்காகத் தான் கண்ட கனாவினை, வேயர் புகழ் வில்லிபுத்தூர்க் கோன் கோதை சொல், தூய தமிழ்மாலை ஈரைந்தும் வல்லவர், வாயு நன்மக்களைப் பெற்று மகிழ்வரே.

    Aayanukkaagath thaan kanda kanaavinai, veyar pugazh Villipuththoork kon Kodhai sol, thooya thamizhmaalai eeraindhum vallavar, vaayu nanmakkalaip petru magizhvare.

    Kodai, daughter of the chief of Villiputtur, told the dream she dreamed of the cowherd Lord in this pure Tamil garland of ten verses; those who can recite them will be blessed with good children and live happily.

    विल्लिपुत्तूर के मुखिया की बेटी कोदै ने ग्वाल-प्रभु के बारे में देखा अपना सपना शुद्ध तमिल की इस दस पदों की माला में कहा; जो इन्हें पढ़ सकते हैं, उन्हें अच्छी संतान मिलेगी और वे सुखी रहेंगे।
