नमो नमो विन्ध्येश्वरी, नमो नमो जगदम्ब।
सन्तजनों के काज में, करती नहीं विलम्ब॥Namo namo Vindhyeshwari, namo namo Jagdamb. Santjanon ke kaj mein, karti nahin vilamb.
Salutations, salutations to Vindhyeshwari; salutations to the Mother of the world. You never delay in doing the work of good people.
हे विंध्येश्वरी, आपको बार-बार नमस्कार; हे जगदंबा, आपको बार-बार नमस्कार। आप संतजनों के काम में देर नहीं करतीं।

आदि शक्ति जग विदित भवानी॥Jai jai jai Vindhyachal rani. Adi shakti jag vidit Bhavani.
Victory, victory, victory to the queen of the Vindhya hills, Bhavani, the primal power known to all the world.
हे विंध्याचल की रानी, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, जय हो। हे भवानी, आप आदिशक्ति हैं, जिन्हें सारा जग जानता है।

सिंहवाहिनी जय जगमाता।
जय जय जय त्रिभुवन सुखदाता॥Sinhavahini jai jagmata. Jai jai jai tribhuvan sukhdata.
Victory to the Mother of the world who rides the lion. Victory, victory, victory to the giver of joy to the three worlds.
सिंह पर सवार जगत-माता, आपकी जय हो। तीनों लोकों को सुख देने वाली, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, जय हो।

कष्ट निवारिणी जय जग देवी।
जय जय सन्त असुर सुर सेवी॥Kasht nivarini jai jag devi. Jai jai sant asur sur sevi.
Victory to the goddess of the world who removes suffering. Victory to you, served by saints, demons and gods alike.
कष्ट दूर करने वाली जगत-देवी, आपकी जय हो। संत, असुर और देवता सब जिनकी सेवा करते हैं, आपकी जय हो, जय हो।

महिमा अमित अपार तुम्हारी।
शेष सहस मुख वर्णत हारी॥Mahima amit apar tumhari. Shesh sahas mukh varnat hari.
Your glory is immeasurable and endless; even thousand-headed Shesha gives up trying to describe it.
आपकी महिमा अमित और अपार है; हज़ार मुख वाले शेषनाग भी उसका वर्णन करते-करते हार गए।

दीनन के दुःख हरत भवानी।
नहिं देख्यो तुम सम कोउ दानी॥Deenan ke dukh harat Bhavani. Nahin dekhyo tum sam kou dani.
Bhavani, you take away the sorrows of the poor; I have never seen anyone as giving as you.
हे भवानी, आप दीनों के दुख हरती हैं; आप जैसा दानी मैंने कोई नहीं देखा।

सब कर मनसा पुरवत माता।
महिमा अमित जगत विख्याता॥Sab kar mansa purvat mata. Mahima amit jagat vikhyata.
Mother, you fulfil everyone’s wishes, and your boundless glory is famous in the world.
हे माता, आप सबकी मनोकामनाएँ पूरी करती हैं, और आपकी अमित महिमा जग में प्रसिद्ध है।

जो जन ध्यान तुम्हारो लावै।
सो तुरतहि वांछित फल पावै॥Jo jan dhyan tumharo lavai. So turatahi vanchhit phal pavai.
Whoever meditates on you at once gains the fruit they desire.
जो व्यक्ति आपका ध्यान करता है, वह तुरंत मनचाहा फल पाता है।

तू ही वैष्णवी तू ही रुद्राणी।
तू ही शारदा अरु ब्रह्माणी॥Tu hi Vaishnavi tu hi Rudrani. Tu hi Sharada aru Brahmani.
You are Vaishnavi, you are Rudrani; you are Sharada and Brahmani.
आप ही वैष्णवी हैं, आप ही रुद्राणी; आप ही शारदा और ब्रह्माणी हैं।

रमा राधिका श्यामा काली।
तू ही मातु सन्तन प्रतिपाली॥Rama Radhika Shyama Kali. Tu hi matu santan pratipali.
You are Rama, Radhika, Shyama and Kali; Mother, you alone protect the saints.
आप ही रमा, राधिका, श्यामा और काली हैं; हे माता, आप ही संतों का पालन करती हैं।

उमा माधवी चण्डी ज्वाला।
बेगि मोहि पर होहु दयाला॥Uma Madhavi Chandi Jwala. Begi mohi par hohu dayala.
Uma, Madhavi, Chandi, Jwala: quickly show me your kindness.
हे उमा, माधवी, चंडी, ज्वाला! जल्दी मुझ पर दया करो।

तू ही हिंगलाज महारानी।
तू ही शीतला अरु विज्ञानी॥Tu hi Hinglaj maharani. Tu hi Sheetala aru vigyani.
You are the great queen Hinglaj; you are Sheetala and the all-knowing one.
आप ही हिंगलाज महारानी हैं; आप ही शीतला और परम ज्ञानी हैं।

दुर्गा दुर्ग विनाशिनी माता।
तू ही लक्ष्मी जग सुखदाता॥Durga durg vinashini mata. Tu hi Lakshmi jag sukhdata.
Mother Durga, you destroy every hardship; you are Lakshmi, who gives joy to the world.
हे माता दुर्गा, आप कठिनाइयों का नाश करती हैं; आप ही जग को सुख देने वाली लक्ष्मी हैं।

तू ही जाह्नवी अरु उत्रानी।
हेमावती अम्ब निरवानी॥Tu hi Jahnavi aru Utrani. Hemavati Amb Nirvani.
You are the Ganga and Utrani; you are Hemavati, the Mother who grants liberation.
आप ही गंगा और उत्रानी हैं; आप ही हेमावती और निर्वाण देने वाली माँ हैं।

अष्टभुजी वाराहिनि देवा।
करत विष्णु शिव जाकर सेवा॥Ashtabhuji Varahini deva. Karat Vishnu Shiv jakar seva.
You are the eight-armed goddess and Varahi, whom Vishnu and Shiva serve.
आप आठ भुजाओं वाली देवी और वाराही हैं, जिनकी सेवा विष्णु और शिव करते हैं।

चौंसट्ठी देवी कल्यानी।
गौरी मंगला सब गुणखानी॥Chaunsatthi devi kalyani. Gauri Mangala sab gunkhani.
You are the sixty-four goddesses, the auspicious one, Gauri and Mangala, treasure of every virtue.
आप चौंसठ योगिनियों के रूप वाली कल्याणी देवी, गौरी और मंगला हैं, सब गुणों की खान।

पाटन मुम्बा दन्त कुमारी।
भद्रकाली सुन विनय हमारी॥Patan Mumba Dant Kumari. Bhadrakali sun vinay hamari.
You are Patan Devi, Mumba and Dant Kumari. Bhadrakali, hear our prayer.
आप पाटन देवी, मुंबा देवी और दंतकुमारी हैं। हे भद्रकाली, हमारी विनती सुनो।

वज्रधारिणी शोक नाशिनी।
आयु रक्षिणी विन्ध्यवासिनी॥Vajradharini shok nashini. Aayu rakshini Vindhyavasini.
You hold the thunderbolt, destroy grief and guard our lives, Vindhyavasini, who dwells in the Vindhyas.
हे वज्र धारण करने वाली, शोक का नाश करने वाली, आयु की रक्षा करने वाली विंध्यवासिनी!

जया और विजया बैताली।
मातु सुगन्धा अरु विकराली॥Jaya aur Vijaya Baitali. Matu Sugandha aru Vikrali.
You are Jaya and Vijaya, Vaitali, Mother Sugandha and the fearsome Vikrali.
आप ही जया, विजया, बैताली, माता सुगंधा और विकराली हैं।

नाम अनन्त तुम्हार भवानी।
बरनैं किमि मानुष अज्ञानी॥Nam anant tumhar Bhavani. Barnain kimi manush agyani.
Bhavani, your names are endless; how could an ignorant human describe them?
हे भवानी, आपके नाम अनंत हैं; अज्ञानी मनुष्य उनका वर्णन कैसे कर सकता है?

जा पर कृपा मातु तव होई।
तो वह करै चहै मन जोई॥Ja par kripa matu tav hoi. To vah karai chahai man joi.
Mother, one who has your grace can do whatever their heart desires.
हे माता, जिस पर आपकी कृपा होती है, वह मन में जो चाहे वही कर सकता है।

कृपा करहु मो पर महारानी।
सिद्ध करहु अम्बे मम बानी॥Kripa karahu mo par maharani. Siddh karahu Ambe mam bani.
Great queen, be gracious to me. Amba, make my words come true.
हे महारानी, मुझ पर कृपा करो। हे अंबे, मेरी वाणी को सिद्ध करो।

जो नर धरै मातु कर ध्याना।
ताकर सदा होय कल्याना॥Jo nar dharai matu kar dhyana. Takar sada hoy kalyana.
Whoever meditates on the Mother always fares well.
जो मनुष्य माता का ध्यान करता है, उसका सदा कल्याण होता है।

विपति ताहि सपनेहु नहिं आवै।
जो देवी कर जाप करावै॥Vipati tahi sapanehu nahin aavai. Jo devi kar jap karavai.
Misfortune does not come, even in dreams, to one who has the goddess’s name chanted.
जो देवी का जाप कराता है, उस पर सपने में भी विपत्ति नहीं आती।

जो नर कहँ ऋण होय अपारा।
सो नर पाठ करै शत बारा॥Jo nar kahan rin hoy apara. So nar path karai shat bara.
Anyone burdened with huge debt should recite this a hundred times…
जिस मनुष्य पर भारी कर्ज़ हो, वह इसका सौ बार पाठ करे…

निश्चय ऋण मोचन होइ जाई।
जो नर पाठ करै मन लाई॥Nishchay rin mochan hoi jai. Jo nar path karai man lai.
…and whoever recites it with a focused mind is surely freed from debt.
…जो मन लगाकर पाठ करता है, वह निश्चय ही कर्ज़ से मुक्त हो जाता है।

अस्तुति जो नर पढ़ै पढ़ावै।
या जग में सो बहु सुख पावै॥Astuti jo nar padhai padhavai. Ya jag mein so bahu sukh pavai.
Whoever reads this hymn or has it read finds great happiness in this world.
जो मनुष्य यह स्तुति पढ़ता या पढ़वाता है, वह इस संसार में बहुत सुख पाता है।

जाको व्याधि सतावै भाई।
जाप करत सब दूरि पराई॥Jako vyadhi satavai bhai. Jap karat sab doori parai.
Brother, if illness troubles someone, chanting this drives it all away.
भाई, जिसे रोग सताता हो, जाप करने से वह सब दूर भाग जाता है।

जो नर अति बन्दी महँ होई।
बार हजार पाठ कर सोई॥Jo nar ati bandi mahan hoi. Bar hajar path kar soi.
Anyone held in harsh captivity should recite this a thousand times…
जो मनुष्य कड़ी कैद में हो, वह इसका हज़ार बार पाठ करे…

निश्चय बन्दी ते छुटि जाई।
सत्य वचन मम मानहु भाई॥Nishchay bandi te chhuti jai. Satya vachan mam manahu bhai.
…and they will surely be set free. Brother, take my word as true.
…वह निश्चय ही कैद से छूट जाएगा। भाई, मेरी बात सच मानो।

जा पर जो कछु संकट होई।
निश्चय देविहिं सुमिरै सोई॥Ja par jo kachhu sankat hoi. Nishchay devihin sumirai soi.
Whoever faces any trouble should remember the goddess with firm faith.
जिस पर भी कोई संकट हो, वह निश्चय से देवी का स्मरण करे।

जा कहँ पुत्र होय नहिं भाई।
सो नर या विधि करै उपाई॥Ja kahan putra hoy nahin bhai. So nar ya vidhi karai upai.
Brother, one who has no son should follow this practice…
भाई, जिसके पुत्र न हो, वह इस विधि से उपाय करे…

पाँच वर्ष सो पाठ करावै।
नौरातन में विप्र जिमावै॥Paanch varsh so path karavai. Nauratan mein vipra jimavai.
…have this recited for five years, and feed Brahmins during Navratri…
…पाँच वर्ष तक इसका पाठ कराए और नवरात्र में ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराए…

निश्चय होहिं प्रसन्न भवानी।
पुत्र देहिं ता कहँ गुणखानी॥Nishchay hohin prasann Bhavani. Putra dehin ta kahan gunkhani.
…then Bhavani will surely be pleased and grant a son who is full of virtue.
…तब भवानी निश्चय ही प्रसन्न होकर उसे गुणों की खान पुत्र देती हैं।

ध्वजा नारियल आनि चढ़ावै।
विधि समेत पूजन करवावै॥Dhvaja nariyal aani chadhavai. Vidhi samet poojan karvavai.
One should bring and offer a flag and a coconut, and have the worship done with proper rites.
ध्वजा और नारियल लाकर चढ़ाए और विधि-विधान से पूजा कराए।

नित प्रति पाठ करै मन लाई।
प्रेम सहित नहिं आन उपाई॥Nit prati path karai man lai. Prem sahit nahin aan upai.
Recite it every day with focus and love; there is no other remedy.
प्रतिदिन मन लगाकर प्रेम से इसका पाठ करे; इसके अलावा कोई उपाय नहीं।

रंक पढ़त होवे अवनीसा॥Yah Shri Vindhyachal Chalisa. Rank padhat hove avanisa.
By reading this Shri Vindhyachal Chalisa, even a pauper becomes a king.
यह श्री विंध्याचल चालीसा पढ़कर कंगाल भी राजा बन जाता है।

यह जनि अचरज मानहु भाई।
कृपा दृष्टि जापर होइ जाई॥Yah jani acharaj manahu bhai. Kripa drishti japar hoi jai.
Brother, do not think this a wonder for one on whom her gracious gaze falls.
भाई, जिस पर माँ की कृपा दृष्टि हो जाए, उसके लिए इसे अचरज मत मानो।

कृपा करहु मो पर जन जानी॥Jai jai jai jagmatu Bhavani. Kripa karahu mo par jan jani.
