Kabe Gaura Vane
Kobe Gourobone, shurodhuni-tote, ha Radhe ha Krishno bole. Kandiya berabo, deho-sukh chhari, nana lota-torutole.
When will I wander weeping in Gaura’s forest on the Ganga’s bank, crying ‘O Radha, O Krishna’, giving up bodily comfort, beneath the vines and trees?
Shopoch-grihete, magiya khaibo, pibo Shoroshoti-jol. Puline puline, goragori dibo, kori Krishno-kolahol.
I will beg my food even in the homes of outcastes and drink the water of the Sarasvati. I will roll on bank after bank, loudly calling Krishna’s name.
Dhambashi jone, pronoti koriya, magibo kripar lesh. Boishnob-chorono-renu gay makhi, dhori obodhut-besh.
Bowing to those who live in the holy land, I will beg for a drop of their mercy. I will smear the dust of Vaishnavas’ feet on my body and wear the dress of a wandering ascetic.
Gour-Broj-jone, bhed na dekhibo, hoibo Boroj-bashi. Dhamer shorup, sphuribe noyone, hoibo Radhar dashi.
I will see no difference between the people of Gauda and of Vraja, and become a resident of Vraja. The true nature of the holy land will shine before my eyes, and I will become Radha’s maidservant.
