1. ஶுப⁴ம்ʼ கரோதி கல்யாணமாரோக்³யம்ʼ த⁴நஸம்பதா³।
   ஶத்ருபு³த்³தி⁴விநாஶாய தீ³பஜ்யோதிர்நமோ(அ)ஸ்து தே॥

   Shubham karoti kalyanamarogyam dhanasampada, shatrubuddhivinashaya dipajyotirnamostu te.

   Light of the lamp, you bring good fortune, well-being, health and wealth, and destroy hostile thoughts: salutations to you.

2. தீ³பஜ்யோதி꞉ பரப்ர³ஹ்ம தீ³பஜ்யோதிர்ஜநார்த³ந꞉।
   தீ³போ ஹரது மே பாபம்ʼ தீ³பஜ்யோதிர்நமோ(அ)ஸ்து தே॥

   Dipajyotih parabrahma dipajyotirjanardanah, dipo haratu me papam dipajyotirnamostu te.

   The lamp’s light is the supreme Brahman; the lamp’s light is Vishnu, Janardana. May the lamp take away my sins. Light of the lamp, salutations to you.
